Ward made his debut with ‘’Dog 4 Life’’ which was a part of the ‘’Exit Wounds’’ soundtrack, and was credited as Iceberg, during which time he was signed with DMX’s Bloodline Records. However, his parents decided to send him to a military boarding school in 2001, but having finished with his education there, Hitmaka moved to Los Angeles in 2003, and in 2005 he was working as a hypeman and recording assistant for Shawnna. In 2007, he released the song entitled ‘’Sexy Lady’’, which became a hit among the Los Angeles-based radio stations, and he was then approached by numerous record labels, and chose to sign with Epic Records. Shortly after that, he released his debut EP ‘’Almost Famous: The Sexy Lady EP’’, which featured six songs and peaked at #18 on Billboard’s chart. During the same year, he had a cameo spot in Kat DeLuna’s music video for ‘’Whine Up’’, and in the next year a collaboration with Ray J which resulted in ‘’Sexy Can I’’, featured on Ray J’s album entitled ‘’All I Feel’’, and then later on Hitmaka’s debut album entitled ‘’Look What You Made Me’’, which was released in 2008. The previously mentioned album consisted of 14 songs that he made in collaborations with artists such as Twista and Trey Songz, and it received a mostly positive response from fans and critics. ‘’The Business’’ – one of the songs – peaked at number 33 on the Hot 100 chart, and the album ended up in the second spot on the Top Rap Albums chart. In 2012, Hitmaka was one of the people who wrote Nicki Minaj’s album ‘’Pinkprint’’ and co-produced it as well. The collaboration he had with Minaj helped him gain more fame and recognition in the hip hop and rap world.

In 2005, Hitmaka founded the Yung Fly movement, and he serves as the CEO and president for this Los Angeles-based group.

In addition to being active in the music field, Hitmaka also appeared on television, cast in ‘’Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood’’, a television show focused on a group of young hip hop artists and their journeys to success, however, Hitmaka was fired because of an alleged assault on his co-stars and girlfriend Masika Kalysha Tucker.

When it comes to Christian’s personal life, he has been the subject of several legal issues and had feuds with his colleagues a lot of times. He had a fight with fellow singer, Bow Wow and wrote a song about him and told the media that the two of them had got over their differences. He also insulted Brisco and Flo Rida, and had a feud with Teairra Marí. In addition to that, he failed to pay child support, and owed in past-dues over $100,000 for his child, Lamont McFarren. Other details are unknown, including the child’s mother. He is supposed to have dated several singers, but is certainly still single.
