Born in Muscat, Oman, Fisher is the daughter of Elspeth and Brian. From Muscat, their family moved to Scotland until finally they decided to set up their home in Perth, Western Australia where Fisher grew up. Early on Fisher’s talent in acting became evident, participating in various commercials and school plays at a very young age. She continued her passion for acting while attending Swanbourne Primary School and Methodist Ladies’ College.

Fisher’s early projects included the children’s shows “Bay City” and “Paradise Beach”. While acting, she also wrote on the side with the help of her mother; she wrote two best-selling novels for teens – “Bewitched” and “Seduced to Fame”. The sales of her books and her early projects as a kid already helped her jump start her net worth.

In 1994, her big break in Australian television came when she was cast in the soap opera “Home and Away”, playing the role of Shannon Reed, on which she worked with Hollywood actors Heath Ledger and Naomi Watts. Her performance in the show even earned her a nomination as Most Popular Actress in the Logie Awards in 1996. After four years, she left the show and flew to Paris to enrole at the Jacques Lecoq International School of Theatre, where she studied pantomime, clown and commedia dell’arte.

After Paris, Fisher continued her acting career though she had a hard time making it big. In 2002, she was cast to join the film “Scooby-Doo” to play the love interest of Shaggy, but although her comedic timing was great and the movie performed well at the box office, Fisher still had difficulty time making it in Hollywood.

In 2005, Fisher got her big break in Hollywood when she was cast in the comedy film “Wedding Crashers” alongside Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. The movie became a box office success that in turn helped her net worth and her career.

After “Wedding Crashers”, opportunities in Hollywood started pouring in – some of her most memorable films include “The Wedding Daze”, “Hot Rod”, “Definitely, Maybe”, “Confessions of a Shopaholic”, “The Great Gatsby”, “Burke and Hare” and “Now You See Me”. The string of successful movies under her belt immensely helped increase her net worth, and also made her one of the most sought-after leading ladies in Hollywood.

Today, Fisher is still active in Hollywood with the movie “Grimsby”, and the television show “Arrested Development” as one of her most recent projects.

In term of her personal life, Fisher has been married to actor Sacha Baron Cohen since 2002, and together they have three children.

1I love acting, love it. It's the greatest fun in the world. I've always had no trouble feeling extremely grateful. So even though, comparatively, I wasn't doing so well, I thought I was on top of the world.
2[After she gives birth] There is no way I am going to worry about missing out on work or the pressure to lose weight. At the moment I am not even planning any work.
3I always liked Elvis Presley when I was younger - I told anyone who would listen that I was going to marry that man. I didn't realize then that he had died.
4I've never had a good-looking boyfriend, well, in the stereotypical way. A lot of people find someone attractive that others don't. Otherwise, all our men would be taken by Claudia Schiffer!
5All I know is that I've ruled out wearing fairy wings. When I was nine I wanted to get married in fairy wings, and now I realize that's not cool anymore.
6Am I a romantic at heart? Who knows.

4Gave birth to her 3rd child at age 39, a son named Montgomery Moses Brian Baron Cohen on March 17, 2015. Brian is Isla's father's name. Child's father is her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen.
5Baz Luhrmann is her favorite director and she agreed to star in his film The Great Gatsby (2013), without reading the script.
6She almost drowned during shooting a scene for Now You See Me (2013), in which she performed in a piranha tank. The top of the tank remained opened so that Fisher would be able to swim to the top to get some air, and there was also an emergency lever inside the tank that, if pulled, would alert the crew that she needed help. During one take, Fisher was running out of air and tried to swim to the top, but the chains on the handcuffs she was wearing got stuck on the bottom of the tank, so she was unable to swim to the top or pull the lever. She then attempted to alert the crew by hitting the glass of the tank, but since her character is supposed to be panicked and scared in the scene, the crew thought she was acting. The stunt coordinator finally realized that something was wrong after he noticed that her handcuffs were stuck.
7Was once engaged to Darren Day.
8Returned to work 12 months after giving birth to her daughter Elula to begin filming Bachelorette (2012).
9Sister-in-law of Erran Baron Cohen.
10Returned to work four months after giving birth to her daughter Olive in order to begin filming Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009).
11At the age of 18, with the help of her mother, Isla wrote two teen novels, "Bewitched" and "Seduced by Fame". Both novels became bestsellers.
12Converted to Sacha Baron Cohen's religion, Judaism, and took the name Ayala, meaning "doe" in Hebrew.
