Jeff Tweedy Net Worth $9 Million

To begin with, Jeff was raised in Belleville by his parents JoAnn and Bob Tweedy, the fourth child in the family. He started playing guitar being six years old. The boy was educated at Belleville Township High School West, and later Jeff studied at Belleville Area College and Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.

After the graduation, Tweedy began his musical career by joining the group named The Plebes in the early 1980s. He joined it with his friend Jay Farrar. The Plebes changed their name to The Primitives in 1984, then they became Uncle Tupelo and gained sufficient recognition which was followed by getting the chance to make a record and playing on tour nationally. The band released four albums “No Depression” (1990), “Still Feel Gone” (1991), “March 16-20, 1992” (1992) and “Anodyne” (1993), but in 1994 the group disbanded because of disagreements regarding the band’s direction. Regardless, this had been a steady start to Jeff’s net worth.

In 1994, Tweedy formed the band Wilco alongside other members John Stirratt , Max Johnston and Ken Coomer. The band recorded seven albums and achieved commercial success with the albums “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” (2002), “A Ghost Is Born” (2004) and “Sky Blue Sky” (2007). The group also collaborated with Billy Bragg and with The Minus. The Wilco won two Grammy Awards in 2005 including one for the Best Alternative Album “A Ghost Is Born” (2004). In 2009, they released the studio album “Wilco” which was nominated for the Grammy Award as the Best Americana Album. In 2011, the band released the album “The Whole Love” which was also nominated for Grammy as the Best Rock Album. Recently, the band has released the ninth studio album “Star Wars” (2015) which entered top ten on the Billboard Independent Albums as well as the Billboard Top Alternative Albums. The album has also entered the list of The 15 Best Albums of 2015 made by The A.V. Club magazine. Overall, the above mentioned albums have significantly increased the total size of Jeff Tweedy net worth.

Furthermore, Tweedy has participated in several musical projects aside from the band, including with Golden Smog and Loose Fur. He also wrote “Adult Head: Poems”, a book of poems which was released in 2004. Moreover, he was released a DVD of his solo performances. His music was originally influenced by country, and then punk, although Jeff has more recently introduced some different experimental themes into his music.

Finally, in the personal life of the singer, he has been married to talent agent Sue Miller since 1995, and they have two children. In 2014, Sue was diagnosed with cancer, but is now in remission. Jeff himself suffered chronic migraines as a teenager, and became addicted to painkillers, for which he went through rehab successfully in the early 2000s.
