Jim Florentine Wiki Biography

James Florentine was born on 18 August 1964, in Brooklyn, New York City USA, and is an actor, stand-up comedian, and television personality, perhaps best known as the co-host of the VH1 Classic series “That Metal Show”. He’s also done voice work, and all of his endeavors have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Jim Florentine? As of late-2016, sources estimate a net worth that is at $500,000, earned through his various endeavors in the entertainment industry since his career began in 1993. He is known to have voiced several characters on “Crank Yankers” including Bobby Fletcher and Special Ed. He also tours around the country performing stand-up comedy, and as he continues his career it is expected that his wealth will increase.

Florentine attended St. Ambrose Catholic School, as he was from a large Catholic family. He developed an interest in music growing up, having been influenced by heavy metal. During his teens, he had an alcohol and drug problem, but apparently hard rock music helped him beat the problem. He then became a DJ during college at WCNJ, but eventually he saw a Rodney Dangerfield comedy special, and then decided to pursue a career in stand-up comedy.

His career began in 1993, when he started performing at various clubs in New York City. After several years he released “Terrorizing Telemarketers Volume 1” in 2001, which was often played on the “Howard Stern Radio Show”, and would reach second spot on the CD ranking behind the Backstreet Boys. Later in the year, he released “Terrorizing Telemarketers Volume 2”, and was then hired for a Comedy Central show called “Crank Yankers”. Eminem took a liking to Florentine’s work, and the two would start to perform prank calls together. In 2004, they appeared together at the “MTV Music Awards” – “Crank Yankers” would last a total of three seasons, and contribute substantially to Jim’s net worth.

He was then featured in the stand-up comedy series “Down and Dirty with Jim Norton”, which also featured talents including Artie Lange, Patrice O’Neal, and Andrew Dice Clay. Jim then became part of “That Metal Show” as the host, and then began making appearances in other popular shows, including “The Apprentice”, “The Howard Stern Show”, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “Inside the NFL”. He also voiced the radio host Bobbie Ray in the video game “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories”.

Jim worked just one season for the HBO series “Inside the NFL”, and the show would win an Emmy that season thanks partly to his contributions. He also released the DVD entitled “Meet the Creeps”, in which he partnered with Don Jamieson to do a series of pranks. He also did occasional guest appearances in “Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfield”. In 2010, he was cast in the film “A Little Help” as Brian, and then a year later started his own podcast entitled “Comedy, Metal, Midgets”, following which he released the stand-up CD “Cringe N Purge”, which got to third spot on the iTunes charts. In 2012, he hosted the OMA Awards, and would then release “Awful Jokes From My First Comedy Notebook” later in the year; this CD also proved successful, and was critically acclaimed due to the risks he took in creating the material.

A few of his latest projects include the “Aqua TV Show Show”, appearing in “Inside Amy Schumer”, and being part of the season finale of “Louie” in 2015.

For his personal life, it is known that Florentine hated his religious upbringing. He also had a girlfriend of six years who committed suicide in December 2006. In 2007, he asked Robin Quivers on a date during the “Howard Stern Show”; their relationship lasted for a year, then he would meet his future wife Samantha Warner. The marriage ended in 2015, after less than three years because Warner was unfaithful, becoming part of a scandal that involved police officer Eric Otten.
