In addition, Jackson has worked for the Big Ten Network, and now works for Fox Sports 1 as a basketball analyst, which have both improved his wealth.

Jim Jackson Net Worth $15 Million

Jim Jackson went to Macomber High School in Toledo, and started for four years for the basketball team, leading them to the 1989 Division I state. From 1989 to 1992, Jim studied at Ohio State University, where he played for the Buckeyes, immediately becoming a key player as a freshman with 16.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. During his college days, Jackson was awarded consensus First Team All-American honors in 1991 and 1992.

The Dallas Mavericks selected Jackson as the 4th pick overall in the 1992 NBA Draft, but he appeared in only 28 games in his rookie season due to a lengthy contract dispute. In the next season, Jackson averaged 19.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 37.4 minutes per game, and became an essential part of the team alongside Jason Kidd and Jamal Mashburn, who were drafted in 1994. In 1994-95 season Jim averaged 25.7 points and 5.1 rebounds, finishing 5th in scoring, even though he played in only 51 games because of an ankle injury. After an altercation with Jason Kidd, Jackson was traded to the New Jersey Nets in the middle of the 1996-97 season, along with along with Sam Cassell, George McCloud, Eric Montross, and Chris Gatling for Ed O’Bannon, Shawn Bradley, Robert Pack and Khalid Reeves.

He spent the rest of the season with the Nets, averaging 16.5 points and 5.9 rebounds in 31 games before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers with Eric Montross and first-round picks Tim Thomas and Anthony Parker for Michael Cage, Don MacLean, Lucious Harris, and the rights to Keith Van Horn. Jim played in 48 matches for the 76ers and had 13.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, but was unhappy with his decreased minutes and playing second fiddle to Allen Iverson, so Philadelphia traded him to the Golden State Warriors along with Clarence Weatherspoon for Brian Shaw and Joe Smith in the mid-1997-98 season. Although he had a bigger role at Golden State – averaging 18.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 40.6 minutes per game – Jackson didn’t want to play for a losing franchise, so he signed a contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, which further increased his net worth. However, Jim’s playing time was limited bynumerous injuries.

In the 1999 off-season, Jackson and his teammate Isaiah Rider were traded to the Atlanta Hawks for Steve Smith and Ed Gray, and in his first season with the Hawks, Jim averaged 16.7 points and five rebounds. However, his minutes decreased the following year, and he demanded a trade, so in January 2001, Atlanta sent him to the Cleveland Cavaliers with Anthony Johnson and Larry Robinson for Brevin Knight. He spent the next two years playing for the Cavs, and then for the Miami Heat, recording 10.3 points and 3.7 rebounds, and 10.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, respectively.

In December 2002, Jackson signed a contract with the Sacramento Kings, which also contributed to his wealth, but served as a bench player and ended the year with 7.7 points and 4.1 rebounds in only 20.8 minutes per game. Jim then accepted a two-year deal with the Houston Rockets and became a starter there, averaging 12.9 points and 6.1 rebounds in 39 minutes during the 2003-04 season, and 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 41.3 minutes in the following campaign. The Rockets decided to trade him away though, so Jackson left for the New Orleans Hornets, but refused to play for them and didn’t record a single match in their uniform. Jim played his last two seasons with the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers, but with minimal game time, and so retired when not required by any of the MLB teams.

He has been working with Fox Sports as a basketball analyst for several years.

Regarding his personal life, Jim Jackson has been married to Shawnee since 2002; their son Traevon Jackson played basketball for Wisconsin from 2011 to 2015, and reached two Final Fours.
