At the Australian Open, he reached the second round in which he won against the strong British Andy Murray. In February, he won his second doubles title alongside Sam Querrey. In 2012, Isner defeated in the Masters tournament the number one ranked tennis player – Novak Djokovic. In the final he met Roger Federer whom he also defeated. Afterwards, he appeared in ninth position in the world rankings. He is still keeping the pace, up to date, having accumulated 10 ATP Tour titles, and finished runner-up 20 times.
