John Rich grew up in his hometown, Amarillo, where he attended elementary school, after which he moved to Dickson, Tennessee, and enrolled at Dickson County Senior High. Upon matriculation, he relocated to Nashville and began to work at Opryland USA, where he sang. Soon after, John`s professional career began, in the early 1990s, when he joined the band Texasee, which later changed the name to Lonestar.

To start his musical career, John played bass guitar in Lonestar, and was an occasional singer. However, he was fired by the band in 1998, but no reasons were given in the media. Immediately John ventured into a solo career, signing with BNA records. He released two singles, “I Pray for You” and “Forever Loving You”, then he started working on his debut solo album “Underneath The Same Moon”, however, it wasn’t released until 2006. The album reached No. 64 on the US Country chart, and its sales increased his net worth by a large margin. To speak further of his solo career, he released his second album, entitled “Son of a Preacher Man” in 2009, which reached No. 3 on the US Country chart. He also released two EPs, “Rich Rocks” (2011), and “For Kids”, the same year. These also added a lot to his net worth.

John`s wealth also benefited from his involvement in the country music duo Big & Rich, which he formed in 2002 with Big Kenny. The duo has released five albums so far, including “Horse of a Different Color” (2004), which topped the US Country chart, and achieved platinum status, “Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace” (2007), which also topped the charts, and achieved gold status, and most their recent release “Gravity” (2014), reaching No. 8 on the chart.

John is also known as a television personality, appearing as a host and judge in such TV shows as “Gone Country”, and “Nashville Star”, among others, increasing further his net worth.

When it comes to speak about his personal life, John Rich has been married to Joan Rich since 2008; the couple has two children. He is also a political activist, supporting several presidential candidates, such as John McCain, Rand Paul, and Fred Thompson, by performing, and writing songs, during their respective campaigns.
