Joseph Marcell was born on the 18 August 1948, on Saint Lucia in the Caribbean. He is a British actor, probably still best known for his role as Geoffrey Butler in the Golden Globe-nominated TV series “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” from 1990 to 1996. Marcell’s career started in 1974.

Joseph then moved to the stage where he played in productions of “Othello” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Marcell returned to TV, and appeared as Walter Isaacs in 15 episodes of “Empire Road” from 1978 to 1979. During the next five years, Joseph had minor roles in series such as “Fancy Wanders” (1980), “Crown Court” (1981), “The Professionals” (1983), “Rumpole of the Bailey” (1983), and “Juliet Bravo” (1985), which only increased his net worth.
