Joshua Jackson Wiki Biography

Joshua Carter Jackson was born on 11 June 1978, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  Actor Jackson is very well known from his roles in various television shows, and that is exactly where his huge net worth is coming from. Joshua has performed more than 30 roles during his career, but so far he is still perhaps best known for his appearance in the popular late 90s TV show “Dawson’s Creek”, in which he appeared along with Katie Holmes and other famous actors. This show as well as others including “Fringe” and “The Mighty Ducks” are the sources of Joshua Jackson net worth.

So just how rich is Joshua Jackson? Sources estimate that Joshua has a net worth which reaches $22 million, accumulated during his 25 years as an actor.

Joshua Jackson Net Worth $22 Million

Joshua spent his early years in California. When he was eight years the family moved to Seattle, but following his parents’ divorce Joshua moved back to Vancouver with his mother and younger sister. Jackson’s mother was a casting director, and therefore it is no surprise that young Joshua turned to acting. He started with several roles in commercials before he moved to television, though it took a while until he managed to secure his first memorable role. In 1991 he appeared as a minor character in a film “Crooked Hearts”. A year later Joshua Jackson starred in the musical “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”. Therefore, at such young age Joshua Jackson was already accumulating his net worth.

This latter role got Joshua Jackson a contract with the William Morris Agency. Soon he got the part of Charlie, as aspiring hockey player, in “The Mighty Ducks” and its two sequels. Joshua’s appearance in these films is considered to be a big breakthrough in his career. In 1997 he also appeared in a popular teen horror movie “Scream2”, but it was the TV show “Dawson’s Creek” that made Joshua Jackson a real star as well as a millionaire. Jackson appeared in this show from 1998 to 2003 along with James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams and Katie Holmes. Joshua portrayed Pacey Whitter, a love interest of Katie Holmes’s character. Thanks to his appearance in this show, in 1999 Jackson was included in Teen People’s list of “21 Hottest Stars Under 21” and received several Teen Choice awards.

Joshua Jackson success did not end with “Dawson’s Creek”. He has made appearances in movies and TV shows including “Cruel Intensions”, “The Skulls”, “Aurora Borealis”, “The Safety of Objects”, the remake of “Ocean’s 11” and an episode of “The Simpsons”. Jackson’s most notable recent achievement is a lead role in a Fox TV Network sci-fi series “Fringe” which ran from 2008 to 2013. For his part in the show Joshua Jackson was nominated for Teen Choice Award four times and even though he did not win, the show added a lot to his net worth. Overall, Joshua has been involved in over 35 films on the big screen, and more than 20 TV productions.

In his personal life, it is interesting to note that Kate Holmes who was 18 at the time they started to shoot “Dawson’s Creek” has admitted Joshua Jackson to be her first love. Their love story is finished long ago but the two are still good friends, even though Joshua has been dating Diane Kruger since 2006. Joshua’s sports interest is his passionate support of the Vancouver Canucks ice-hockey team.

1If I only dated actresses, I'd be a very lonely man.
2I hate people saying anything stupid. I don't really suffer fools very well at all. When people are acting like idiots, not that I'm not guilty of doing the odd idiotic thing myself from time to time, but when people say stupid things, it stresses me out.
3I've had more of an opportunity to work with Katie Holmes, which is incredibly enjoyable. I think she is really one of the best actresses on the market right now. She forces you to bring your best stuff to the table, because if you don't, she just completely overpowers you.
4I'm not really the type to wear my heart on my sleeve. I would let someone know if I liked them, but it takes a while for me to fall in love.
5For me, the desire exists less to get myself a degree than to just go and have the whole college experience, and throw myself into the brain pool and see if I can swim.
6That's the beauty of our show. If we don't have a new crazy thing, something's gone horribly wrong. There's the individual creepy, gooey stuff, but what we've done pretty well is make each one of the creepy gooey things adds up to a much bigger story. -- on "Fringe"
7It seems this [parallel universe] idea is part of the zeitgeist right now. Maybe it's due to my west coast liberal upbringing, but, the idea of parallel universes doesn't strike me as being too far out there. After the 60s and its psychedelia and the doors of perception and what have you. What defies my imagination is that there would be nothing out there that would defy my imagination. Maybe it's because I'm a sci-fi fan. It's like the Carl Sagan thing, the candle in the dark - it only serves to illuminate how much we still don't know. -- on the idea of parallel universes.
8Nobody criticizes the 'Mighty Ducks' trilogy and gets away with it. Nobody!
9I love Vancouver. I can be with my family, I can reconnect with the guys. It will always be my home.
10"I think Uma Thurman is one of God's creatures, one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen".
11I was born in Vancouver, moved to Los Angeles and when my parents split up, gradually moved back up the west coast. I was able to pack a lot of experience into my 19 years. My parents getting divorced was obviously a very traumatic experience. And then after, it was just me, my sister and my mother, and we went at it alone. I went from being a very well-off little kid to having a couple rough years, to rebuilding, my mother did that. She and I are very close.
12The anti-elitist values in America, I think, are very destructive to education.
1He is left-handed.
2Starring along with Patrick Stewart in "A Life in the Theatre" in London, England, UK. [February 2005]
3Recently met ex-President Bill Clinton during "Speak Truth to Power" appearing with the cast of Bobby (2006), girlfriend Diane Kruger, and "Bobby" director and The Mighty Ducks (1992) co-star, Emilio Estevez. [November 2006]
4Vancouver, Canada: Finishing the 4th season of Fringe (2008). [March 2012]
5Currently filming the television series Fringe (2008) in New York City. [September 2008]
6Auditioned for the role of James T. Kirk in Star Trek (2009).
7Was in a long-term relationship with Diane Kruger for 10-years (2006 - 2016). However, the couple separated amicably in July 2016, stating that they would remain friends.
8Had to be rushed to a hospital when during a stunt performed on the set of Fringe (2008) a copper wire was shoved up his nose and hit a vein. [September 2008]
9Saved a girl's life who was drowning in Wilmington. The cast and crew of Dawson's Creek (1998) gave him a life preserver to remember it.
10Mother Fiona Jackson hails from Dublin, Ireland and attended Trinity College in Dublin.
11Attended the 2006 Dubai International Film Festival in the United Arab Emirates.
12Was initially scheduled for a cameo in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001), but Kevin Smith decided to go with James Van Der Beek, the lead star in the WB's Dawson's Creek (1998), instead.
13Unlike most Canadian born actors, he has never been introduced at the Toronto Film Festival.
14Enjoys playing the harmonica in his free time.
15Briefly attended Ideal Mini School in Vancouver.
16Screen tested for the title role in Batman Begins (2005), but lost out to Christian Bale.
17At age 9, he was a stand in for The Fly II (1989) and an extra on MacGyver (1985) for several episodes.
18First on-screen appearance was, when he was several months old, in The Changeling (1980), which starred George C. Scott.
