Judy Tenuta was born on 7 November 1956, in Oak Park, Illinois, USA, of Italian and Polish descent. Judy is a comedian, best known for her onstage persona which includes a lot of brashness, very often alternating insult comedy with self-promotion, including herself as the “Love Goddess”. Other projects she was a part of have included “Saturday Live”, and starring in the HBO special “Women of the Night”, plus winning “Best Female Comedienne” at The American Comedy Awards – the first female stand-up comic to do so. From the late 1980s to the mid-1990s, she was a frequently guested on the “Howard Stern” morning radio show. She also wrote her own book in 1991 called “The Power of Judyism”. Three years later, she was nominated for her first Grammy, for her comedy CD “Attention Butt Pirates and Lesbetarians”, and would get another nomination the following year. In 1996, she was cast in the film “Butch Camp” playing a drill sergeant, and then produced the film called “Desperation Boulevard”. In 2007, Tenuta made a guest appearance in “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” as the librarian Mrs. Holler, followed by her casting in the indie films “Going Down in LA-LA Land” and “Sister Mary”.

For her personal life, it is known that Judy married Emo Philips in 1988, but it ended in divorce.
