At a young age, KaDee watched the film “Annie Hall”, and it inspired her to try and pursue a career in acting. She was very active as she grew up and eventually became interested in the performing arts when she took part in a play during high school. After matriculating, she attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and also joined the Screen Actors Guild as well as working as a part time waitress. She also interned at a casting agency, which helped her land her first film role. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts, moved to New York and then to Los Angeles.

One of Strickland’s first film appearances was a small role in “The Sixth Sense”, which led her to be a part of the 1999 independent film “The Sterling Chase”. She also appeared in a small role in “Girl, Interrupted” which starred Angelina Jolie. She continued to be a part of various film productions during her time in Los Angeles, including “Train Ride”, “Diamond Men” and “Bomb the System”.

She also appeared in stage productions, becoming a part of projects such as “A Requiem for Things Past” and “Women of Manhattan”. She would become a part of the pilot of “The Street Lawyer”, and the following year, KaDee appeared in “Anything Else” as the girlfriend of Jason Biggs’ character. The film wasn’t very successful though it started to increase her net worth, and led to “Something’s Gotta Give”, the Jack Nicholson film which was a major success and led her to other projects.

Strickland eventually got her first lead role in “Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid” which is a sequel to “Anaconda”. The film didn’t get very good reviews, though it still earned money at the box office. She then became a part of “The Grudge” which is a US remake of the Japanese film “Ju-on: The Grudge”, which became a number one box office hit and very profitable, regardless that the film didn’t receive very good reviews. In 2004, she was cast in “Fever Pitch”, which finally drew praise for her performance. Her net worth continued to increase, and she was then cast in “American Gangster”.

The following year, KaDee appeared in the pilot of “Laws of Chance”, before being cast in the 1950s-setting film “Walker Payne”, and then became a regular in “The Wedding Bells” before joining the “Grey’s Anatomy” spin-off “Private Practice”, in which she portrays Charlotte King.

1You are enough, which I believe is critical for any human being to get in their bones.
2I can say this: You haven't lived until you've had to wear a triplet pregnancy belly. You would be amazed at what a girl can learn based on the different months of pregnancy to make her character more interesting.
3The reason I always loved 'The Omen' so much, and what has always been scariest to me, is anything to do with God. Anything to do with God is quite frightening because fear is something that's very much expressed in a church environment, and I grew up in one. And the fear of God was very much instilled me at a very young age.
4My father always said, 'Do your best and piss on the rest.' And I think there's a lot of truth to that, because if you've done your best, there's not a hell of a lot more you can do about something.
5My father's name is Dee, so when I was born they named me Katherine Dee and they took the K from Katherine and put it with his name, sort of to give me my dad's namesake. But it's hysterical how often it gets misspelled. I used to be like, 'No one capitalizes my D!'
6Oh God, I'm going to get in trouble for saying this, but I grew up falling asleep in church because I was tired from watching horror movies late at night.
7As an actor, there is always an opportunity to learn from the other actors you work with.
8I'm kind of obsessed with food - I really am.
1Gave birth to her 1st child at age 37, a son Attius Behr on October 17, 2013. Child's father is her husband, Jason Behr.
2(November 10, 2006) Married her boyfriend of 2 years Jason Behr.
3Sister-in-law of Aaron Behr, Johnny Behr and Alisa Behr.
4Met her now-husband, Jason Behr on the set of 2004's The Grudge (2004).
5Received a Silver Star Alumni Award from her alma mater, The University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2006.
6Considered for the role of Susan Storm/Invisible Girl in Fantastic Four (2005).
7Name origins come from her father's name, Dee.
8Favorite horror movie is The Omen (1976).
9Raised in Georgia and then went to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
