Katherine Ryan was born on 30th June 1983, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, of part-Irish and English ancestry, and is a comedian, presenter and writer, perhaps best known for her stand – up routine participating as a guest star as well as a presenter in the show “Live at the Apollo”, aired on the BBC. More, Katherine won the Nivea Funny Women Award, and was also a finalist in the Amused Moose Laugh-Off competition. Ryan has been active in the entertainment industry since 2012.
How much is the net worth of Katherine Ryan? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the overall size of her wealth is as much as $500,000, as of the data presented in early 2018. Television is the major source of Ryan’s modest fortune.
Katherine Ryan Net Worth $500,000
To begin with, the girl was raised in Sarnia with her two younger sisters, in the family of an industrial designer, the owner of an engineering company. Katherine’s parents separated when she was 15 years old, and at the age of 18 she decided to leave home, and chose to study town planning in Toronto. While at university, she also worked at Hooters, then began training other waitresses. In her free time, she enjoyed performing on the stage as a stand-up comedian, and in 2008 Katherine won the Nivea Funny Women Award at Comedy Store.
Concerning her professional career, Katherine Ryan debuted on television in the show “8 Out of 10 Cats” (2012), and shortly afterwards landed a role in the television series “Campus”. In 2013, she participated as a celebrity dancer in the reality competition show “Let’s Dance for Comic Relief”, broadcast on BBC One, and reached the finals where she finished fourth overall. She also participated in the “Whitney Cummings Just for Laughs 2013 Gala”, recorded live in front of an audience. From 2013 to 2016, Katherine served as a guest panelist and presenter in the series “Have I Got News for You”. The same year she brought new routines to the Edinburgh Festival, then in 2015, Katherine Ryan replaced Steve Jones in the television series “Hair” on BBC Two, as well as worked as a regular panellist on “Bring the Noise”. In 2016, she participated in the second season of the television game “Taskmaster”, in which she beat Joe Wilkinson and Richard Osman among others. In 2017, her show entitled “Katherine Ryan: In Trouble”, recorded during the tour of her one-woman show in the UK, was aired on BBC. Additionally, Katherine wrote a weekly column for the British entertainment magazine NME. Since 2017, she serves as a presenter of the game show “Your Face or Mine?” aired on E4.
However, Katherine Ryan was involved in a controversy, especially in the press, and has even received death threats about a joke about cosmetic testing which was deemed racist. She subsequently defended herself on Twitter, explaining that her joke had been taken out of context. She also spoke about the controversy in her special show on Netflix.
Finally, in the personal life of Ryan, she has a daughter, Violet, with an ex-boyfriend; they live in London, England.
I don't blame Americans for wanting to come to Canada. I'm very proud to be Canadian. Some have said we should build a wall, the way Trump (Donald Trump) suggests doing, to keep them out. And Americans are of course larger than Mexicans, the wall wouldn't even need to be very high.
