Kathryn Crosby grew up in Texas, where she went to the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 1955 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In the meantime, Kathryn appeared in a few movies including Alfred Hitchcock’s Oscar Award-nominated mystery called “Rear Window” (1954) starring James Stewart, Grace Kelly, and Wendell Corey.

However, her first on-screen credit came in 1955 in “Cell 2455, Death Row” with William Campbell, R. Wright Campbell and Marian Carr. She played various characters in “The Ford Television Theatre” from 1955 to 1957, and in Phil Karlson’s movie “The Phoenix City Story” (1955), portraying Ellie Rhodes in the story about the lawyer and his father who take on the war against prostitution and gambling. Kathryn continued with a role in Blake Edwards’ drama “Mister Cory” (1957), with Tony Curtis, Martha Hyer and Charles Bickford, and the same year starred in George Marshall’s “The Guns of Fort Petticoat”, playing the character of Anne Martin, the brave women who fights against the Comanche tribe. She had a part alongside Jack Lemmon, Ernie Kovacs and Mickey Rooney in Richard Quine’s war-comedy “Operation Mad Ball” (1957), and ended the successful year with “The Brothers Rico” (1957) – her net worth was certainly rising.

In 1958, Kathryn co-starred in Phil Karlson’s western “Gunman’s Walk” with Van Heflin and Tab Hunter, and then played Princess Parisa who is shrunken by a malicious wizard in “The 7th Voyage of Sinbad”. She portrayed Mary Pilant in Otto Preminger’s Oscar Award-nominated mystery “Anatomy of a Murder” (1959) starring James Stewart, Lee Remick and Ben Gazzara, and ended the decade with a role in Joseph M. Newman’s drama called “The Big Circus” (1959) as Jeannie Whirling in a story about a circus owner who has a lot of problems keeping the business running.

Crosby took a break in acting in the ‘60s but still appeared in numerous television shows such as “The Bing Crosby Show” (1964), the Golden Globe Award-nominated “The Bob Hope Show” (1964), and the Primetime Emmy Award-nominated “The Mike Douglas Show” (1967-1975). In 1978, Kathryn played the character of Mrs. Goodwin in Robert Day’s horror “The Initiation of Sarah” (1978), while her last movie appearance occurred in 2010 in Henry Jaglom’s comedy “Queen of the Lot”.

Regarding her personal life, Kathryn Crosby was married to the legendary singer Bing Crosby from 1957 until his death in 1977, and had three children with him. She later married Maurice William Sullivan in 2000, but a car accident in 2010 took his life, while Crosby survived with severe injuries.
