Keegan-Michael Key is a Southfield, Michigan-born American actor, comedian as well as a writer who is best known for his appearance in the comedy sketch series “Key & Peele”. Born on 22 March, 1971, Keegan is bi-racial and as a child, he was adopted by his African-American father and white mother. A highly regarded comedian at the present, Keegan has been active in the field of entertainment since 1999.
A well-known actor who has managed to make a great career on American television as a comedian, how rich is Keegan as of 2015? At the present, he has been counting his net worth at a decent amount of $6 million. Needless to say, major part of his income comes from his involvement in showbiz and entertainment which has been a part of his life for more than 15 years. His appearance in “Key & Peele” has been the most significant in adding to his wealth, but along with many other shows.
Keegan-Michael Key Net Worth $6 Million
Raised in Detroit, Keegan graduated from Shrine Catholic High School and earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. He was a student of fine arts and majored in theater while earning his Master degree at Pennsylvania State University. Adopted as a child, Keegan discovered his birth mother after college and in the meantime, found out that Dwayne McDuffie, a comic book writer was actually his half-brother. Keegan started his career as a comedian when he was cast in the comedy sketch series “MADtv” in the middle of its ninth season, also the start of his net worth.
Keegan began gathering popularity as an actor and a fine comedian as he appeared in “MADtv”. Later on, he hosted “The Planet’s Funniest Animals” for three years. Other of his work on television includes his roles in “Gary Unmarried”, “Children’s Hospital” among others. More recently, he is also noted for his appearances on the show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”. While on the sets of “MADtv”, he worked with Jordan Peele with whom he later went on to star in their own comedy sketch series “Key & Peele”. The show has been airing since 2012 and has already run for four seasons. Obviously, all of these shows have been very significant in adding to Keegan’s net worth over the years.
Keegan is also a renowned name in Hollywood as he has appeared in numerous movies; some of these include “Afternoon Delight”, “Just Go With It”, “Let’s Be Cops” and more. He has also worked as a voice artist in the movies “The Angry Birds Movie” and “The Lego Movie”. As a writer, Keegan has penned shows like “MADtv” and “Key & Peele”. Being a part of all these shows has not only helped Keegan polish his acting and comic skills, but has also helped him add extensively to his net worth.
During his career, Keegan has been rewarded with many nominations and major awards including a Peabody Award as well as an American Comedy Award. On a more recent note, Keegan was also invited to “White House Correspondent’s Dinner” where he was introduced by the president as Luther, his anger translator.
As for his personal life, Keegan has been married to Cynthia Blaise since 1999. 44 years old Keegan is now living his life as a successful comedian and writer, while enjoying his present net worth of $6 million.

In regard to our show(Key and Peele), some people ask me sometimes ''What is the greatest thing that can happen to your show?'' I said the greatest thing that can happen to my show, is that a kid watches something on whatever the equivalent of YouTube is 75 years from now and goes ''Why is this funny? I don't understand this.'' (Meaning that hopefully Americans will have solved the racism issues in the near future and thus kids won't understand the shows humor on racism issues.)
2
I was a special-needs child. It was like, 'Here's a kid with no arm. Here's a blind kid. Here is a biracial kid. Let's take the blind one.' So because I'm high yellow, I'm special needs, which means I would dominate at the Special Olympics.
3
Our show is not based on huge characters. There are characters in our show; whether or not they reoccur is based on the audience. MADtv (1995) was a formula - our show doesn't have one,. We try to incorporate the shows. We're not trying to be cool here. We're trying to be funny. If you watch the beginning of certain shows, you notice that they're trying too hard to be hipsters and be cool. We're like, 'Why are you trying to be a badass?' We realize that we're nerds. Our goal in life is to get the laughs.
