Kerri Walsh is a daughter of Margery Lee and Timothy Joseph Walsh, and grew up in Scotts Valley, near Santa Cruz, California. Her family moved to San Jose, where she went to the Archbishop Mitty High School, playing in both basketball and volleyball teams. Jennings starred in three state championships and led her school to three consecutive volleyball titles from 1993 to 1995. In addition, she also led her basketball team to the state championship in 1995, and was awarded the Gatorade National High School Volleyball Player of the Year title in 1996.
Jennings received a volleyball scholarship to attend Stanford University, where she was selected as a first-team All-American four years in a row. While at Stanford, Jennings won two national titles in 1996 and 1997, but lost to Penn State in the finals in her senior year in 1999. The Stanford University record while Kerri was a part of it was 122-11. She graduated in 2000 with a BA in American studies, and as one of the best all-around players in the history of collegiate volleyball.
In 2001, Kerri and Misty May-Treanor formed the most successful beach volleyball team in US AVP Tour history. Already at the end of 2001, they finished at No. 5 in the world, but in 2002, the team topped the rankings and had a streak of 90 matches undefeated, which was a record at the time. Kerri and Misty won the World Championships in Rio in 2003, defeating the defending champions Brazil, and they stayed at the top in Berlin 2005 and Gstaad 2007, which increased Kerri`s net worth by a large margin. In 2011, they won the silver medal in Rome.
Jennings has represented the US in four Olympics so far, winning three gold medals in Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, and 2012 London. With her new teammate April Ross, Kerri won the bronze medal at the most recent Olympic Games in Rio 2016. Kerri and April teamed up after Misty May-Treanor’s retirement in 2012, and they won the Long Beach, California Grand Slam tournament as a part of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour.
Jennings has also appeared in several television shows, including an episode of “CSI: Miami” in 2006, “Hell’s Kitchen” in 2014, and in “Celebrity Wife Swap” in 2015, which have also contributed to her net worth. She also works as a host of Sirius Satellite Radio’s Faction 28 station’s one-hour show that airs every Sunday, adding further to her net worth.
Regarding her personal life, Kerri Walsh married fellow beach volleyball player Casey Jennings in 2005, and they have three children together; in fact, she was five weeks pregnant while at the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
