In 1972, Kyle’s parents Kenneth and Kathleen Richards separated and her mother remarried twice, but Kyle`s half-sister is Kathy Hilton from her mother`s first marriage, and so Paris and Nicky Hilton are her nieces.
Kyle Richards started her acting career in 1974, when she played in eight episodes of the TV series “Little House on the Prairie”. Then later in the ‘70s she appeared in several horror movies, and television series, including “Eaten Alive”, “The Car”, and “Halloween”. In 1980 Kyle played in “The Watcher in the Woods”, and over the following years she had the role of Nurse Dori in the popular hospital and doctors drama “ER”, appearing in 21 episodes. Then in the role of Lisa in “National Lampoon`s Pledge This!” in 2006, and subsequently the TV shows “The Simple Life”, also in 2006, and “My New BFF”, along with many relatively minor parts in series and shows.
Since 2010, Kyle Richards has appeared in the TV show “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”, not only with her sister Kim Richards, but also with her husband Mauricio Umansky. Kyle subsequently released a book – “Life Is Not a Reality Show: Keeping It Real with the Housewife Who Does It All” – in 2011, in which Kyle reveals how to achieve the perfect middle spot between celebrity and normal housewife. However, earning $270.000 for every episode must have helped somewhat too!
In her personal life, Kyle Richards has been married to real estate agent Mauricio Umansky, since 1996, with whom she has three daughters. Mauricio runs his The Umansky Group, selling luxury properties in California neighborhoods of Malibu, Brentood and Beverly Hills. Kyle Richards has one child from her previous marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie, between 1988 and 1992.
