Lana Jean Clarkson (April 5, 1962 – February 3, 2003) was an American actress and fashion model. During the 1980s she rose to prominence in several sword-and-sorcery films. In February 2003, Clarkson was fatally shot by songwriter and producer Phil Spector in the lobby of his mansion. Spector was charged and convicted of second degree murder on April 13, 2009.
Was in Scarface, which starred Al Pacino. In 2013, Pacino would play Phil Spector, the man who killed her.

On Friday, May 29, 2009, Phil Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison for the murder of Lana Clarkson.

While shooting a Playtex commercial, Lana met and befriended actor Michael Worth who would later help train Lana in martial arts for her film roles.

Was originally cast as an extra for the high school prom sequence in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). Character actor Vincent Schiavelli came up with the idea of his character Mr. Vargas having a beautiful blonde young wife on the spot while the sequence was being filmed. He choose Lana Clarkson from a line-up of extras to portray Mrs. Vargas.

She volunteered weekly at the AIDS charity "Project Angel Food," which delivers food to those in LA disabled by HIV or AIDS.

Her modeling career also took off, and she found herself working on high fashion photo shoots, traveling around the United States and Europe. Other projects found her in Japan, Italy, Switzerland, France, Argentina and Mexico. Through her travels, she learned to speak both Spanish and Italian quite well.

At the age of eighteen acquired her SAG card on the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), this being her first speaking role in a feature film. Her introductory lead role was in the movie Blind Date (1984), filmed in Greece, starring Kirstie Alley. While filming Barbarian Queen (1985), in Argentina, she quickly picked up on sword fighting.

A native Californian, growing up in hills of Sonoma Valley, where she enjoyed horseback riding. She loved horses and was given a roan mare named Breeze for her 10th birthday. She quickly became proficient at both English and Western riding styles.

On September 27, 2004, Phil Spector was indicted for her murder. The judge allowed him to remain free on $1,000,000 bail.

On February 3, 2003, she was found shot dead in record producer Phil Spector's home in Alhambra, California.
