Lori Petty was born on 14th October 1963, in Chattanooga, Tennessee USA, and is an actress, best known for her roles in such movies as “Point Break” (1991), “A League of Their Own” (1992), “Free Willy” (1993), and “Tank Girl” (1995). Petty’s career started in 1985.

Lori Petty was born the oldest of three children and a daughter of a Pentecostal minister. Petty went to the North High School in Sioux City, Iowa, from where she matriculated in 1981. Before pursued her acting career, Lori worked as a graphic designer in Omaha, Nebraska.
Petty’s first on-screen appearance came in an episode of “The Equalizer” in 1985, and then she played in an episode of “The Twilight Zone” in 1986. Lori ended the ‘80s with roles in several TV movies and the TV series “Booker” (1989-1990) starring Richard Grieco. She became popular in the early ‘90s with parts in such movies as “Cadillac Man” (1990) alongside Robin Williams, Tim Robbins, and Pamela Reed, and in Kathryn Bigelow’s “Point Break” (1991) with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. With Tom Hanks and Geena Davis, Petty co-starred in Penny Marshall’s Golden Globe-nominated comedy “A League of Their Own” in 1992. In 1993, she starred in “Free Willy”, and thanks to the commercial success of the movie with over $150 million earned, Petty’s net worth increased significantly.

In the mid-90s, Lori played in “The Glass Shield” (1994) alongside Michael Boatman and Ice Cube, and starred in “Tank Girl” (1995) with Ice-T and Naomi Watts.
