Born Lodewicus Theodorous Oosthuizen on the 19th October 1982 in Mosel Bay, South Africa, Louis is a professional golfer who competes on the PGA Tour, Sunshine Tour and European Tour ,and so far has won 13 professional titles, including the 2010 Open Championship.

He has also been the highest ranked South African golfer for most of the last seven years, and internationally he has represented South Africa in the Eisenhower Cup in 2002, and at the World Cup in 2011, plus he was selected for the International Team in the Presidents Cup in both 2013 and 2015.

Regarding his personal life, Louis has been married to Nel-Mare Oosthuizen since 2007, and the couple has three daughters. They have residences in South Africa, Florida and the UK.
