Lynn grew up in Singapore and Japan, as her parents were devotees of karate. She attended Singapore American School and Klein High School, and discovered her love for acting during a Christmas pageant, in which she acted as Mrs Claus. After matriculating, she then attended Julliard School’s Drama Division, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts in 1999.

In the same year, Collins made her television debut in an episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, the fourth longest running scripted US primetime television series on a major broadcast network, with stories often based on actual crimes or loosely based on crimes that caught the attention of the media. She then went on stage to appear in Shakespeare plays such as “Hamlet”, playing Ophelia opposite Liv Schreiber, and the title role of Juliet. Her next notable project was a stint in “Haunted” which aired on UPN, but was cancelled due to low ratings.

Despite that, her net worth started to increase and it led to more opportunities for her. She had roles in films such as “50 First Dates” which stars Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. She also became a part of “Down with Love” and “13 Going on 30” which starred Jennifer Garner, airing in 2004.

Lynn continued to have projects that built her net worth. She gained a lot of attention in the film “The Merchant of Venice” playing Portia, opposite Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Joseph Fiennes. In 2008, she was cast as Dawn Green, Jason Stackhouse’s girlfriend in the HBO vampire series “True Blood”. The following year, she was then cast in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” in which she played the hero’s love interest opposite Hugh Jackman. In 2012 she was cast as the Martian princess Dejah Thoris in “John Carter” – her first leading role – based on the book “A Princess of Mars” by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

For her personal life, it is known that Collins married actor Steven Strait in 2007 after a four-year relationship. However, they separated in 2013. The following year, she married musician Matthew Boyle and they have a child. Lynn was raised in a very religious family of Southern Baptists, but has since explored several faiths.

1I feel like part of your job as an actor is you're going to get noticed, and the more successful you get, the more noticed you are. It's kind of like a Catch-22.
2They're really competitive at drama in Texas.
3The truth for me is that I've been doing independent film since the get-go, so that's a big passion of mine, but the big ones are really fun, too. I like my world to be eclectic.
