One of his first career opportunities was hosting a children’s show entitled “Steampipe Alley”. The show aired on WWOR-TV and he would stay with the show for its entire run from 1988 to 1993. He then started doing stand-up comedy shows, increasing both his popularity and net worth. Other projects Mario has been a part of include various Comedy Central roasts. He also has a segment in “Chappelle’s Show” called “Ask a Gay Dude”. He’s also done voice over work, mostly for advertisements of Sunsilk, but was also the voice of Mikey Abromowitz in the animated film “Surf’s Up”. He is a regular guest on “The View”, and has transitioned to a more regular role since 2014. In 2016, Cantone appeared in an episode of “The $100,000 Pyramid”, meantime as an aside, he was also a judge of the Miss America 2014 pageant.
