Martin Ødegaard, born on the 17th of December 1998, is a Norwegian professional footballer (soccer player) who currently plays for the Dutch team SC Heerenveen, on loan from Real Madrid, and also the Norway national team. Born in Drammen, Norway, Ødegaard is the son of Lene Cecilie Ødegaard and Hans Erik Ødegaard, who is also a former football player. With his father’s background, he eventually also fell in love with football starting his playing career in a local club led by his father.
Their local club was Drammen Strong, with which Ødegaard played for a total of five years starting in 2005, and with which he trained during his younger years. He also received a prize from the team twice, when he was given the Statoil talent award in April 2014, and again for the 2014 season.
In 2012, at the age of 13 Ødegaard began training with the Strømsgodset first team.
