He is best known to the world simply as Matt Barnes, a professional basketball player, who currently plays for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Over the course of his career, he has played for a number of teams such as Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers and others, making it the main source of his net worth. Barnes then enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles where he focused on basketball, playing it for the next four years he spent at the University.
He declared himself for the 2002 NBA Draft, and was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies as the 46th pick. However, Barnes didn`t put on the Memphis jersey, as he was soon traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but even there he didn`t manage to prove himself worthy of the NBA team, and was waved in October the same year.
In the next two years, Matt played for the lower league teams, Fayetteville Pirates (D-League), and Long Beach Jam (ABA).
He made a return to the NBA in 2004, signing with the Clippers, but changed between three more teams including the New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings, until 2008 when he became a part of the Golden State Warriors.
