Mel Giedroyc Net Worth $5 Million

Mel is the youngest of four children of Rosemary and Michal who was an historian and aircraft designer respectively. Apart from English, she is also of part-Polish-Lithuanian descent through her father. Mel began her education at Oxford High School after which she enrolled at the University of Cambridge’s Trinity College, from which she graduated with a lower second degree, majoring in Italian language and literature. Alongside her college friend Sue Perkins, she founded a comedy duo, known simply as Mel and Sue, which made its on-camera debut in 1996 in several episodes of BBC One’s sketch show “French and Saunders”, and later that year Mel also appeared in “The Vicar of Dibley” TV series. These involvements provided the basis for Mel Giedroyc’s current net worth.

To a greater prominence Mel and Sue came in 1997, when they started a lunchtime comedy chat show on Channel 4, named “Light Lunch”. Through its two seasons, the show featured numerous guest stars such as Cliff Richard, Magnus Magnusson, Geoffrey Rush as well as Jackie Collins and Ian McKellen among various others. In 1998 she show was renamed to “Late Lunch”, while in 1999 the duo began hosting a comedy panel game on ITV named “Casting Couch”. In the early 2000s, Mel began serving as a co-presenter of “RI:SE”, a television breakfast show on Channel 4, while in 2003 she was featured as a narrator of BBC One’s “Celebrity Driving School”. In 2005 Mel appeared briefly in an episode of the sitcom “Blessed”, as well as becoming a co-presenter of “Richard Hammond’s 5 O’Clock Show”. It is certain that all these endeavors have helped Mel Giedroyc to add sums to the total of her net worth.

In 2007, Mel served as one of the celebrity judges for UK’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest – “A Song for Europe” –  and was also one of the presenters of “Eurobeat: Almost Eurovision” show later that year. Between 2008 and 2011, she occasionally voice-acted for BBC’s children’s program “Sorry, I’ve Got No Head”, while in 2010 she was featured on the family entertainment show “What Do Kids Know?” Besides these, she also served as a Channel 5 panelist for “The Wright Stuff” on several occasions between 2007 and 2010. Doubtlessly, all these involvements helped Mel Giedroyc to increase the size of her revenues by a large margin.

In 2010, alongside her long time professional partner Sue, Mel began appearing in another cookery competition show entitled “The Great British Bake Off”, serving as its host for the next six seasons ’til 2016. In 2012 and 2013, she also hosted its spin-off show “The Great Sport Relief Bake Off”, while in 2014 she appeared in BBC Two’s mini series “Collectaholics”. These were followed by Mel’s engagements on other BBC’s programs such as “Draw It!”, “Vertigo Road Trip” and “Now You See It” which all contributed to Mel Giedroyc’s net worth as well.

Among some of the most recent on-camera engagements of Mel Giedroyc, there have been host appearances on BBC’s game show “The Generation Game” as well as co-presenting engagements on “Children in Need” and “Have I Got News for You”. Additionally, Mel has published two books so far – “From Here to Maternity: One Mother of a Journey” released in 2005, and “Going Ga-Ga: Is there Life After Birth?” which hit the shelves in 2007. All of these accolades have certainly made an impact on Mel Giedroyc’s total wealth.

When it comes to her personal life, Mel Giedroyc has been married to a television director and LAMDA teacher Ben Morris, with whom she welcomed two daughters.
