Phelps attracted the attention of the international public during the 2004 Summer Olympics. That year, Phelps brought home six Gold and two Bronze medals. For his contributions to swimming, Phelps has been awarded with USOC Sportsman of the Year Award, Marca Leyenda, and FINA Swimmer of the Year award among many others.
