Mike O’Malley started his career in 1991, when he starred in a minor role in an episode of the television series “Law & Order”. He filled minor roles for a few years, before he starred in the title role of the television series “Life with Roger” (1996 -1997), aired on The WB Television Network. Between 1998 and 1999, he secured his first roles in feature films, appearing in the role of Mike Perry in “Deep Impact” (1998), and later starred in the supporting role of Pete in the film “Pushing Tin” (1999) with John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton. In 2000, he played Oliver in the film “28 Days” with Sandra Bullock, and the same year, he received one of the roles for which he is best known that of Jimmy Hughes in the sitcom aired on CBS – “Sooner or later divorce!”; the series lasted until 2006 and Mike starred in all seasons. Meanwhile, he joined the cast of “My Name Is Earl” (2005 – 2009) in the role of Stuart Daniels, a cop with a passion for bowling. O’Malley appeared in two feature films in 2008 – “Meet Dave” starring Eddie Murphy and “Leatherheads” starring George Clooney. In 2009, he joined the cast of the hit television series “Glee” playing Burt Hummel, father of Kurt Hummel played by Chris Colfer – his recurring role during the first season evolved into the main in the second season. Due to his excellent performances in the series, he was nominated for the Emmy Award in the category of the Best Supporting Actor in a TV Comedy Series in 2010, and the same year won the Teen Choice Award. In 2010, he joined the cast of the television series “Parenthood” in the recurring role of Jim Kazinsky, and appeared in the film “Eat Pray Love” with Julia Roberts, boosting his net worth again.
