Myles had a troubled childhood since his parents divorced when he was only two years old, and he was raised by his father, who worked as a roofer to support Myles’ education. He went to Beecher Junior High, and once hitting seventh grade, Myles started wrestling. As he got older, he became more and more focused on fighting and under the guidance of Professor Don Richard he started training Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Just a year later, he began MMA training and fought for the first time when he was 15 years old. After he finished junior high, Myles became a student at Fenton High School, where he continued his career and became the district champion, and also received All-State honors in his senior year. After matriculation, he enrolled at Oakland Community College, however, he had to quit education, in order to focus more on training and later professional career.
Before he officially became a professional mixed martial artist, Myles had a 6-0 record as an amateur fighting in Shoot, and KOTC promotions.
His professional debut came in 2008 against Brad Johnson in MFL: Michigan Fight League. This was also his first professional win. Myles then joined KOTC as a professional fighter and won his first five bouts, all in the first round, which only increased his net worth. He then fought in the XCC: Rumble in Royal Oak against David Herlein, whom he also defeated in the first round.
In 2011, Myles was a part of The Ultimate Fighter 13 but suffered a serious injury that kept him sidelined for the entire year, and was out of the competition without even making a single fight.
