Orenthal James Simpson is the son of Eunice and Jimmy Lee Simpson, who was a chef and a custodian. His father was a well-known drag queen and later came out as gay. Because of his amazing performance during the same year, he was given as the title of NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. The highlights of his career include winning 4 NFL Rushing titles and Named All-Pro between 1972-1976. He received the title of NFL Rushing touchdown leader in 1973 and 1975. In 1977, he suffered an injury and his season was cut short. He played for ‘San Francisco 49ers’ after being traded by the ‘Buffalo Bills’. He was receiving the salary of $ 806,688 when he retired in 1979 due to a damaged knee and was the highest paid football player of that time. He also tried his skills as a commentator of ‘The NFL on NBC’ and ‘Monday Night Football’. His endorsement deals included working with products such as ‘Pioneer Chicken’, ‘Hertz’ rental Car Company and ‘Honey-Baked Ham’ as well as a $250,000 deal of three years with Chevrolet. Regarding his personal life, on June 24, 1967, Simpson married Marguerite L. Whitley. They had three children together. In 1979, he met Nicole Brown and he started dating her while still being married. He divorced Marguerite and married Nicole on February 2, 1985. This marriage lasted seven years and they had two kids together. On June 12, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were found murdered in Nicole’s house and Simpson was the prime suspect. On June 17, he was involved in a low-speed pursuit, which was broadcasted on many TV stations. This pursuit, arrest, and trial were one of the most famous and known incidents of the American history. On October 3, 1995, the jury gave the verdict of ‘not guilty’ for the two murders. A poll was conducted on this in 2016, and according to that 83% of white Americans and 57% of black Americans believe Simpson was guilty of the murder trails.

However, since then, Simpson faced other legal problems and eventually spent nine years in prison on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping, after he and several of his collaborators entered a room at the Palace Station hotel-casino and with them took sports memorabilia and threatened people with guns.
