Peter was born into an academic family, which moved to England while he was still young. He then started practicing martial arts when he was six years old, which along with other sporting interests held him in good stead later in life, when he became an actor..

Peter actually started work as an engineer for a gas company, but eventually, he would start to pursue a career in acting, making his first appearance on TV in an episode of “Nancy Drew” in 1995. His film debut would come three years later in “The Long Island Incident”, in which he played the character Hugh. More opportunities opened up for him and his net worth started to increase. In 2000, he was a guest in an episode of “Relic Hunter”, before taking on a role in “Witchblade” the following year, appearing in two episodes as Hector “Moby” Mobius.

His popularity grew into the 2000s, as he was cast in more prominent roles. He played Jaffa in the film “Hidalgo” which was released in 2004, a biographical film based on the life of distance rider Frank Hopkins and his mustang named Hidalgo. Three years later, Mensah was cast in an iconic role in the film “300”, playing a Persian Messenger, based on the comic series of the same name created by Frank Miller, a fictionalized re-telling of the Battle of Thermopylae during the Persian Wars. In 2009, Mensah also made an appearance in the film “Avatar”. In 2008, he then became a part of the video game project entitled “Dead Space” as Sgt. Zach Hammond, providing the voice and likeness. His net worth was rising steadily.

In 2010, he then took on the role of Oenomaus in the series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” for 13 episodes, was aired on Starz and inspired by the historical figure of the same name played by Andy Whitfield. He reprised his role the following year in “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena”, which is a prequel miniseries to “Blood and Sand”. He would also reprise his role in “Spartacus: Vengeance” and “Spartacus: War of the Damned”.

A few of his latest projects include “Transformers: Prime” which he voiced Predaking, and “Sleepy Hollow” which he played the Hidden One, adding to his net worth and career CV, which now spans almost 50 appearances in films and on TV.
