Phil Edmonds was born on March 8, 1951 in Lusaka, Northern Rhodesia as Philippe Henri Edmonds. He is married to Frances Edmonds. They have one child.
Educated at the Gilbert Rennie High School in Lusaka, Skinners School in Tunbridge Wells, Cranbrook School and Fitzwilliam College at Cambridge University. He was a successful cricketer for Cambridge, Middlesex and England before embarking on a successful business career. He is currently Chairman of Middlesex CCC and also serves on the ECB management and MCC general committees.
