Philip Bailey was born on 8 May 1951, in Denver, Colorado USA, and is a singer, actor, songwriter, and percussionist, best known to be one of the original members of the band Earth, Wind & Fire, but has also released numerous solo albums. He’s also known for his four-octave vocal range, and for winning numerous awards throughout his career. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Philip Bailey? As of mid-2016, sources estimate a net worth that is at $3 million, mostly earned through a successful career in the music industry; he’s been inducted into several Halls of Fame. He’s also collaborated with other artists, and all of these activities have ensured the position of his wealth.
Philip Bailey Net Worth $3 million
When Philip was growing up, he had a lot of jazz music influences. He attended East High School and after matriculating, became a part of a local band called Friends & Love. In 1972, he was invited to become part of Earth, Wind & Fire, and would become one of the lead vocalists of the band, on songs such as “Head to the Sky”, “Fantasy”, I’ve Had Enough”, and “September”. He also collaborated with The Emotions to create the song “Boogie Wonderland”. After the retirement of band leader Maurice White, Bailey became the leader of Earth, Wind & Fire, continuing to showcase his vocal prowess throughout the years.
Philip would go on and collaborate with other artists such as Phil Collins on the song “Easy Lover” for the album “Chinese Wall”, which would certify platinum. The song would reach the second spot of the US Billboard Hot 100 and then 22nd spot on the Billboard 200. He also collaborated with Andrae Crouch on the album “I’ll Be Thinking of You”. After collaboration on gospel music in 1980, Bailey would then pursue Christian music, and would release his first gospel album in 1984 called “The Wonders of His Love”. Two years later he released “Triumph” which won him a Grammy, but would continue to do other genres as well, releasing the jazz album “Dreams” in 1999. Three years later, he worked on “Soul on Jazz”, and then helped Stevie Wonder on the song “Part-Time Lover”. One of his later performances was during the World Series in 2007 when he sang “God Bless America”. All efforts contributed to his net worth.
Philip has released a total of 12 solo albums apart from his Earth, Wind & Fire career, and has won a total of seven Grammy Awards. Later on, he was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame, and Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
Aside from music, Philip has also made television appearances, getting the role of Private Bobby Thomas in the television show “Matlock”. He also has an honorary Doctor of Music from Berklee College of Music, and an honorary doctorate from the Columbia College in Chicago. For his personal life, it is known that Bailey is married to his third wife, Kristal. He has six children, and one of them is with Jeanette Hutchinson of The Emotions.

Quote
1
[observation, 2013, on 'Earth, Wind and Fire's longevity]The music itself has been the soundtrack of many people's lives. It actually comes back and speaks to us, even as creators of the music. Our message and our music has always been the same one: of love and respect for humanity and mankind, and lifting the consciousness of folk in that way. I think it's feel-good music.
