Richard Noel Marx was born on the 16th September 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He is a singer, musician, songwriter as well as record producer. The peak of his career was from the 1980s to 1990s when he released a number of hits including “Right Here Waiting”, “Endless Summer Nights”, “Hazard”, “Now and Forever” and others. Overall, Marx has sold more than 30 million albums Richard Marx has been accumulating his net worth being active in show business since 1980.
How much is the net worth of Richard Marx? It has been reported by sources that the overall size of his wealth is as much as $18 million, as of early 2016.
Richard Marx Net Worth $18 Million
To begin with, Richard Marx grew up in a very musical family – his father Dick Marx was a composer and vocal coach, his mother Ruth was a singer. Marx was discovered by Lionel Richie at the beginning of the 1980s, for whom he subsequently worked as a backing vocalist. In 1987, the eponymous solo debut album entitled “Richard Marx” was released, which was successful, especially in the USA, it reached 8th position on The Billboard 200 Albums Chart. The singles “Don’t Mean Nothing” and “Hold On to the Nights” from the album topped respectively the Billboard Main Rock and Hot 100 charts. In 1989, he made the final breakthrough with his ballad “Right Here Waiting” from his second album “Repeat Offender”. His third album “Rush Street” (1991) followed up on the success of the first two LPs and brought Marx to the peak of his solo career. At that time, Richard Marx added huge sums to the outright size of his net worth.
In the following years, he released four more albums, including a best album of “Greatest Hits” (1997), but the success of previous years, he was not able to repeat. He retreated largely from the public eye, and worked mainly as a songwriter for many well-known artists. He wrote texts for Kenny Loggins, Lara Fabian, 98 Degrees, ‘N Sync and many others. He has also acted in this time especially for the teaching of art and music in schools and for the anti-smoking campaigns. Only with his eighth solo album, “My Own Best Enemy” (2004), did he make a highly regarded comeback. On this album Marx worked with some famous colleagues as Fee Waybill, Michael Landau and Keith Urban. In addition, his single “Ready To Fly” became the unofficial anthem of the Four Hills Tournament of 2005. Marx’s 30 million album sales during his career include writing as a singer 19 top-20 hits, including seven number one hits and 13 more for other artists. In 2004, he won a Grammy Award in the category Song of the Year for the song “Dance With My Father”.
Finally, in the personal life of Marx, he was married to actress Cynthia Rhodes from 1989 to 2014, and they have three sons. In 2015, it was announced that Richard married television host and model Daisy Fuentes. The newlyweds reside in Los Angeles, USA.

For me, being a musician is not about an image or controversy or what looks cool. It's about the music. It comes down to having the privilege of expressing yourself.
