Ronald Dee White, simply known as Ron White, is an American stand-up comedian, writer, film producer and an actor. How rich is Ron White? According to sources, Ron White’s net worth is estimated to be $30 million. A famous stand-up comedian, Ron White accumulated most of his net worth due to his successful performances on stage. Born in 1956, in Fritch, Texas, White served at the United States Navy before he switched to comedy. White served on the USS Conserver ship near the end of the Vietnam War, when he was only 17. However, White’s true passion has always been acting, and his dream of performing on stage soon became true.
How did he become famous?
Ron White began his career as a member of the “Blue Collar Comedy Club”, a highly popular comedy troupe consisting of three more members: Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy, and Daniel Whitney, better known as Larry the Cable Guy. The troupe sold out a show in over 90 cities in the United States, and as a result grossed over $15 million. White’s appearances with the “Blue Collar Comedy Club” gave him a public exposure, and significantly contributed to his $10 million net worth. Ron Whitem then went on to perform in a television program “Blue Collar TV” starring the original members of the troupe as lead actors. Even though White initially refused to appear on the show, he was a guest-star on many episodes. The show ran for two seasons and featured guest appearances from Jeff Dunham, Drew Carey, Brad Pitt, and A. J. Styles.
What TV shows and movies has he appeared in?
In 2005, White aired his own television show titled “The Ron White Show”, which contained a number of sketches and cartoons. The show only lasted for one evening and featured guest appearances from Phil McGraw, Rip Taylor, and the trio from “Blue Collar TV”. During his career, White performed in several TV shows, such as “The Gong Show with Dave Attell”, “12 Miles of Bad Road”, “Kath & Kim”, and movies, including “Horrible Bosses” with Jason Bateman and Colin Farrell, as well as “Sex and the City 2”. However, Ron White is mostly recognized for his stand-up skits, namely “You Can’t Fix Stupid”, “Behavioral Problems” and “Drunk in Public”. The skits were released in both DVD and CD formats, and “You Can’t Fix Stupid” even peaked at #1 on the Billboard Top Comedy Albums chart. White’s solo work has been publicly recognized and appreciated, and his album titled “A Little Unprofessional” released in 2012 was nominated for Best Comedy Album in the Annual Grammy Awards in 2014. A famous stand-up comedian, actor and a film producer with an estimated net worth of $10 million, Ron White is a well-known author as well.
Ron White book and his official day
In 2006, White published a book “I Had the Right to Remain Silent But I Didn’t Have the Ability”, which was featured on the New York Times best seller list. Ron White is a largely beloved figure and even has a day named after him.
In 2009, Texas legislative officials named the 27th of April a “Ron White Day” in Texas.
His nickname, Tater Salad, came from when he was in the Navy. A fellow sailor, Hoskins, was supposed to relieve him of his post when a picnic was occurring. He hollered down to Hoskins, "Hey Hoskins, get up here and relieve me before somebody eats all that Tater Salad." From then on, Hoskins called him Tater Salad.
