Sergio Marchionne was born on 17 June 1952, in Chieti, Italy, and is an executive, best known to be the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, but he is also the CEO of Ferrari and the Chairman of CNH Industrial. He holds numerous other high positions, and all have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

Sergio initially worked as an accountant for Deloitte & Touche for three years, then moved to Lawson Mardon Group, and the following year to Glenex Industries as Executive Vice President. In 1990, he became the Chief Financial Officer at Acklands for two years, followed by serving as the Chief Financial Officer of the Lawson Group for another two years. In 1994, Alusuisse Lonza acquired the Lawson group, and he would work there until 2000, becoming the CEO of the company in 1997. His net worth was rising substantially.

In 2002, he became the CEO of SGS S.A. Seven years later Sergio decided to buy a 20% stake of Chrysler via Fiat Group, at a time Chrysler was emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and he would then become the CEO.
