1Often plays chain-smoking, drug-addicted and emotionally-drained characters
1If I never make another film, I don't care as long as I'm true to what I believe in, which is being kind.
2[on Johnny Depp] I had an amazing time working with Johnny Depp who is extraordinary. He is a true artist.
3[on Johnny Depp] The truth is, if you're a man, it is a lot easier. I would love to be, you know, Johnny Depp - be a great actor and do great choices and be very private, I would love that.
4[on Tippi Hedren and Alfred Hitchcock] He had this clichéd ideal of a woman. He found this amazing woman who had never acted before and thought he could mould her. In his mind, he was creating the perfect woman - he even told Tippi what lipstick to wear. At first she adhered to it, unaware that it was not something that usually happened on a film set. Gradually, he became more and more obsessed with her. Tippi wouldn't play the game. When she refused to reciprocate and stuck to her own moral code, she became unattainable to him. And, of course, the more she became unattainable, the more he wanted her. You always want what you can't have, especially someone like Hitchcock, who had no self-esteem. The fact that he loved this goddess who shunned him confirmed all his worst feelings about himself. So he resolved to make her feel very uncomfortable - for instance, he would recite very crude limericks designed to shock her just as she walked past. He inflicted deep psychological damage on her. He wouldn't work with her after Marnie (1964), but he wouldn't let anyone else work with her, either," says Miller. "She was his, and if he couldn't work with her, then no one else could, either. By the time she was released from her contract after seven years, she had missed her window. You would feel complete resentment about that, wouldn't you?
5[on Alfred Hitchcock] Hitch was so controlling. But a crew these days wouldn't stand by and let it just happen. If a director behaved like that nowadays, there'd be a sexual harassment lawsuit.
6[on Tippi Hedren] She said that Hitch could be hilarious and had sides to his character that were wonderful. But she still bears a lot of resentment towards him because having made her career, he then completely destroyed it. Hitch giveth and Hitch taketh away.
7[on her role in Factory Girl (2006)] Edie Sedgwick was skinnier than I was, so director George Hickenlooper wanted me to lose weight. But I can't work that hard and not eat. He'd come and try to snatch bagels out of my hands.
8It's happiness that makes you glow. Oh, and maybe a touch of fake tan!
9They [the press] want to make you look as normal and disgusting as possible. But I'm not going to stop. I refuse to stop living my life the way I want to live it. I'm 24 years old.
10Everything just happened in the wrong order. I did my first proper film [Alfie (2004)] where I met Jude and we got together, and then the whole celebrity thing happened before I had any films out. So there's nothing to overshadow the celebrity side of things. But hopefully with all the work that I've done this year, it'll just take the focus off what I'm wearing or my relationship or whatever.
11She [Edie Sedgwick] had this luminescence. You can't act that, you're either born with it or you're not. And I think Edie and Marilyn Monroe had that and that's it.
12Somehow, I always end up being scandalous even though I don't mean to. I just find it. If it's there, if there's something scandalous lurking, I'll accidentally walk into it.
13(on Alfie (2004)) I actually liked that film. But maybe it was because I was falling in love [with co-star Jude Law] and having a magical time making it. And I loved working with Jude. He's an incredible actor and taught me a lot.
14I don't wish ill on anyone. I genuinely am one of those people who want other people to succeed. It's not a conscious choice, it's just the way I am.
15I'm a liberal at heart; I don't want to vote Conservative. I'd vote Green, but I know it's a wasted vote or whatever, but it's the only party with integrity. I'm not saying we live in a dictatorship, in a fascist regime, because that's really disrespectful to people who do live in countries that are.
16I went to an all-girls boarding school for most of my youth. We used to do stupid, fun girly things like pull tights over our faces and streak through the lacrosse pitch. And once I snogged the gardener.
17I think American men are more conscious of putting up a good impression. There's more of an earthiness to Englishmen. But Americans aren't afraid to come up and say, "Hi, I'd like to go out with you." Englishmen are far more sheepish about it.
18I've wanted to be an actress for as long as I can remember, and I can say I was almost born in the theatre. My mum went into labour while she was watching The Nutcracker Suite in New York - apparently I was kicking like mad.
19Men's traditional view of sexiness isn't sexy. It shouldn't be so obvious: push-up bras and miniskirts? Sexiness, to me, is when people are comfortable with themselves.
20Style is definitely a combination of place, occasion, surroundings, body and mood. And to be honest, I sometimes don't spare neither trouble nor expense. Fortunately, I can afford to do so now, but style doesn't mean you have to stick to all-brands-looks. The thing is, you can't buy style and you can only slowly learn it.
21[on her style secrets] The secret is to know what you're doing. And then every other person will notice that you know. No matter what I'm wearing, I try to always make it look casually, but never arbitrary. Never ostentatious.
22[on her newfound fame] I'm very happy about it to be really honest! But I think it's as a result of being scrutinised because of the relationship that I'm in. If it was because of the work, it would be more justified.
23I'm English, definitely. I don't feel like I'm American in any way.
24I know people compare me to Kate Moss a lot after that media hype started. But it's not that I'm trying to get her look, truly not. But I like what she's wearing and we seem to share taste to a certain extent.
1An avid food lover, her favorite recipe to prepare is the Filipino dish "Chicken Adobo" and the spicy Anglo-Indian "Chicken Tikka Masala".
2She played the role of Catherine Greig in the crime drama Black Mass (2015), but director Scott Cooper decided to cut all her scenes due to "narrative choices".
3At The 87th Annual Academy Awards (2015), by coincidence, she presented the only Oscar that was awarded to her film American Sniper (2014), among the six nominations it was up for.
4Replaced Emma Stone as Sally Bowles in the Broadway revival of "Cabaret", when Stone's contract expired. Miller had time in her schedule after the filming dates of The Lost City of Z (2016) was pushed back. The show marked the first time she sang professionally.
5She took the role of the Baroness in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) because it did not involve "having a breakdown, or addicted to heroin, or dying at the end; it was something that was just maybe really great fun".
6Launched, with her sister Savannah, her fashion line, which is named "Twenty8Twelve". Name refers to Sienna's birthday, which is December 28 (2007).
7(May 4, 2013) Was in attendance at the wedding of her The Edge of Love (2008) co-star Keira Knightley to James Righton.
8Returned to work 3 months after giving birth to her daughter Marlowe in order to begin filming Foxcatcher (2014).
9Was 5 months pregnant with her daughter Marlowe when she completed filming A Case of You (2013).
10Gave birth to her first child at age 30, a daughter Marlowe Ottoline Layng Sturridge on July 7, 2012. Child's father is her [now ex] fiancé, Tom Sturridge.
