Susan Flannery was born on 31 July 1939, in Jersey City, New Jersey USA, and is an actress, best known for her work on the daytime dramas “Days of Our Lives” and “The Bold and the Beautiful”. She’s was active in the industry from the 1963 up to 2012, and all of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Susan Flannery? As of late-2017, sources inform us of a net worth that is at $9 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting, as she was part of numerous films and television shows throughout her career. She also won several awards, but all of her achievements ensured the position of her wealth.
Susan Flannery Net Worth $9 million
Susan attended Stephens College and graduated in 1962 with a BA degree. After appearing in several television projects, she was then cast in “Days of Our Lives” in 1966, and spent nine years as part of the show playing Dr. Laura Spencer Horton. During her time there, her net worth would start to increase, and she was also involved in several film projects while part of the show, including “The Towering Inferno” which was the first film to be a joint venture by two major Hollywood studios, and was very successful. She was also a part of the 1976 film “The Gumball Rally” which became an inspiration for numerous other films. In 1980, she was cast in the television series “Dallas”, in which she played Leslie Stewart for a year.
Eventually, Flannery would meet writer William J. Bell, who would invite her to become a part of the soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful”, which started in 1987 – she would become one of the original cast members of the show and her net worth would continue to increase over the years. She also started directing episodes of the show, and received two Directors Guild of America Award nominations. She would stay with the show for 25 years until her character was written out, passing away from lung cancer. Meantime, she also appeared in two episodes of the sitcom “Hope & Faith”.
In 2008, Susan, directed an episode of “Guiding Light”, and appeared as a guest in “Good News Week” and “Wheel of Fortune”. Two years later, she reached the top spot of the blog “We Love Soaps” poll on the Top 50 Soap Actresses of All Time. She has won several awards throughout her career, including a Golden Globe for “The Towering Inferno”, and a Daytime Emmy for “Days of Our Lives”. She also won three other Daytime Emmy Awards for her work in “The Bold and the Beautiful”.
For her personal life, it is known that Flannery has an adopted daughter, but has resisted any enquiries regarding romantic liaisons. Aside from acting, she also was active as part of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). She was instrumental in how their soap opera actors got paid when their show was televised in other countries. She also enjoys sailing, cooking dinner, travelling and flying. She has a pilot’s license and has travelled around the world with former co-star Ian Buchanan.
