During her time there, her net worth would start to increase, and she was also involved in several film projects while part of the show, including “The Towering Inferno” which was the first film to be a joint venture by two major Hollywood studios, and was very successful. She was also a part of the 1976 film “The Gumball Rally” which became an inspiration for numerous other films. In 1980, she was cast in the television series “Dallas”, in which she played Leslie Stewart for a year.

Eventually, Flannery would meet writer William J. Bell, who would invite her to become a part of the soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful”, which started in 1987 – she would become one of the original cast members of the show and her net worth would continue to increase over the years. She also started directing episodes of the show, and received two Directors Guild of America Award nominations. She would stay with the show for 25 years until her character was written out, passing away from lung cancer. Meantime, she also appeared in two episodes of the sitcom “Hope & Faith”.
