Tamlyn Tomita Net Worth $3 Million

Tamlyn Tomita is a daughter of Asako and Shiro Tomita, a distinguished Japanese-American who was automatically interned in California during World War II. She went to the Granada Hills High School, while in 1984, Tamlyn won the Nisei Week Pageant in Los Angeles, and then was named Miss Nikkei International in 1985.

In 1986, Tomita made her on-screen debut in John G. Avildsen’s Oscar Award-nominated action movie “The Karate Kid Part II”, starring Pat Morita and Ralph Macchio. From 1997 to 1998, Tamlyn played Ming Li in 31 episodes of the romantic-drama TV series “Santa Barbara”, and later had a minor role in a Primetime Emmy Award-nominated television drama “To Heal a Nation” (1988) with Eric Roberts and Glynnis O’Connor. Tomita continued with the Primetime Emmy Award-nominated war drama called “Hiroshima: Out of the Ashes” (1990) alongside Max von Sydow and Judd Nelson, and then co-starred in Alan Parker’s “Come See the Paradise” (1990) with Dennis Quaid. Her net worth was well set.

Tamlyn’s reputation in the film industry grew, and she started getting bigger roles including as Lt. Cmdr. Laurel Takashima in the Richard Compton’s Primetime Emmy Award-winning sci-fi movie “Babylon 5: The Gathering” (1993). She then played Waverly – The Daughter in the BAFTA-nominated drama “The Joy Luck Club” (1993), followed by an appearance in Robert Rodriguez’s segment of “Four Rooms” (1995) starring Tim Roth. By the end of the ‘90s, Tamlyn had parts in the Primetime Emmy Award-nominated series “The Burning Zone” (1996-1997) and in Richard LaGravenese’s romantic comedy “Living Out Loud” (1998) with Holly Hunter, Danny DeVito and Queen Latifah, so her net worth continued to rise.

Between 2002 and 2003, Tomita focused on television, and made an appearance in seven episodes of the Primetime Emmy Award-winning series “JAG”. Also, she played in five episodes alongside Kiefer Sutherland in the Golden Globe Award-winning show “24”. Tamlyn’s first blockbuster movie was Roland Emmerich’s BAFTA-winning sci-fi “The Day After Tomorrow” (2004) starring Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal and Emmy Rossum., which grossed around $550 million worldwide, and increased Tomita’s net worth significantly. From 2008 to 2009, Tamlyn played Giselle in six episodes of the Golden Globe Award-nominated show “General Hospital”, and in the meantime, she had a supporting role in the horror movie “The Eye” (2008) with Jessica Alba.

In 2010, Tomita appeared in ten episodes of the “Law & Order: LA”. From 2014, Tamlyn started to play in the popular series “Teen Wolf”, while in 2015, she had a role in five episodes of “Chasing Life”. Most recently, Tomita played a smaller part alongside James Caan in the thriller “The Good Neighbor” (2016), and is currently working in the series “Berlin Station” (2016 – ), adding to her net worth

Regarding her personal life, Tamlyn Tomita’s most intimate details such as marital status and the number of children are unknown as she successfully manages to keep them out of the public eye. In the past she was apparently in a relationship with actor Greg Watanabe, but it came to nothing.
