American musician Oliver Taylor Hawkins was born on 17 February 1972, in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. Probably he is best known as a member, the drummer, of the famous rock group Foo Fighters, but Taylor has also contributed to his net worth through songwriting. Taylor joined Foo Fighters in 1997, however, he has been active in the music industry since 1994: at the very beginning of his career, Hawkins was the drummer for Alanis Morissette, of the band Sylvia, and for Sass Jordan. Along with Alanis Morissette, Taylor has appeared in a few videos – You Oughta Know, and You Learn. Collaboration with such a famous singer in Taylor`s early career undoubtedly benefited his net worth.
So just how rich is Taylor Hawkins? Sources have recently estimated that Taylor Hawkins’ net worth is $20 million, virtually all accumulated through his involvement in the music industry.
Taylor Hawkins Net Worth $20 Million
Taylor Hawkins’ family moved to Laguna Beach, California when he was four years old, and there Taylor spent almost all his childhood, attending Thurston Jr. High School and Laguna Beach High School, as well.
Taylor Hawkins was the touring drummer for Alanis Morisette on tours as well as the drummer in a progressive experimental band called Sylvia, prior to joining Foo Fighters in 1997, which had been formed in 1994. Taylor joined the band including Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, and Chris Shiflett, it was working on its second album named The Colour and the Shape. In total, Foo Fighters released seven studio albums, the sales of which definitely helped Taylor to enlarge his net worth. In Foo Fighters, Hawkins was not only the drummer, but also an accomplished singer, pianist and guitarist. A cover of Pink Floyd`s Have a Cigar was Taylor`s first project in which he appeared as lead singer. There are no doubts Foo Fighters has been a main source of Taylor Hawkins’ net worth.
Taylor Hawkins has also played drums in a project known as Chevy Metal, and for Vasco Rossi. As a drummer, Hawkins featured on the American prog band Coheed and Cambria`s album Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow (2007), replacing former musician Josh Eppard. There was also a project led by Taylor Hawkins and Foo Fighters, named The Birds of Satan: in April 2014, it released a self-titled album.
Since 2004, Taylor Hawkins has been the owner of the project named Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, in which Taylor sings and plays drums. This project has been adding significant revenue to Taylor Hawkins net worth, too. Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders released two albums: Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders and Red Light Fever, in 2006 and 2012 respectively.
In his personal life, Taylor Hawkins is married to Alison, and the couple has two children. The family currently resides in Topanga Canyon, California. As regards his hobbies, Hawkins loves mountain biking. However, it is well-known that Hawkins was addicted to heroin in the 1990s. In 2001 there was an incident on Foo Fighters tour in London during which Hawkins overdosed on heroin, required medical assistance.
It was thanks to Rush that I got into Genesis. After listening to Neil (Neil Peart), I bought the Seconds Out live album, which was released in 1977. It's just amazing. Not only hearing Phil Collins playing the drums, but also singing. He gets a really bad rap from some people for 'daring' to take over after Peter Gabriel quit, but you just hear the way he sounds here. The beauty of this album is that it's got songs from ...Trick Of The Tail, the first album Genesis did without Gabriel. Collins is an incredible drummer. Anyone who wants to be good on the drums should check him out - the man is a master.

[on Roger Taylor of Queen] Every time Roger opens up his hi-hat or hits the snare, you just know that's him playing. It's those elements that give a band personality and are so often missing today.
3
[on Phil Collins] People seem to have forgotten that Phil is one of the greatest rock drummers ever to have walked the planet. I've been lucky enough to have had drum lessons from people like Chad (Smith) and Dave (Grohl) in the past, but I'd love to get a lesson from him. So Phil, if you're out there, please come and teach me how to play 'properly'.
