Tim Hudson grew up in Alabama where he went to Glenwood School in Phenix City and led the baseball team to the the 1993 AISA state championship. Although he was a big talent, the scouts considered him undersized, so Tim didn’t receive a scholarship to join a major college. Instead, he enrolled at the local two-year Chattahoochee Valley Community College, where he spent a year before transferring to Auburn University.
The Oakland Athletics selected Hudson in the 6th round of the 1997 MLB Draft, and he debuted in June 1999 against the San Diego Padres, while in 2000, Tim recorded a career-high 20 wins and became the AL wins leader, and earned an invitation to the All-Star event.
