During her childhood, her family would perform at small events throughout the US and the Caribbean.
When she was fifteen, Tina was noticed by a screenwriter and creative mentor Sean Harris, who convinced her to pursue a music career, which she eventually did. Concurrently attending her studies as a biology major at Rutgers University and performing with her family on weekends, Tina worked with Harris in the studio and writing her own music. Upon graduating from university, she was signed to Rebellion Entertainment and spent the following year working on her songs and new demos. She eventually signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music and Sony.
