Granddaughter of the legendary opera singer Folke Jonsson, Ulrika moved to the UK when she was 12 years old, where she was educated at Burnham Grammar School, and upon matriculation began pursuing her career.

In the beginning, she worked for a brief time as a secretary, before joining TV-am in 1989. She was a weather presenter until 1992, when she joined the show “Gladiators” as a presenter and co-host, and remained in that position until 1999, which increased both her popularity and net worth to a large degree. In 1993, she was named as captain of team B in the game show “Shooting Stars”, and remained in the show until its cancelation in 2011, which added a considerably to her net worth. In 1998 she was the host of “The Eurovision Song Contest”, and regained national fame in 2009, when she was named the winner of the sixth season of the popular show “Celebrity Big Brother”. The following year she was a contestant in the “Ultimate Big Brother”, and reached finals, however, she ended up being seventh.

Most recently, Ulrika was a part of the culinary show “Celebrity Master Chef”, in which she reached the final.

Aside from her work on television, Ulrika is also an accomplished author; back in 2003 she published her first book – “Honest” – and in 2011 published the book “The Importance of Being Myrtle”, the sales of which only further increased her net worth.

When it comes to her personal life, Ulrika has two failed marriages behind her. Her first husband was John Turnbull, from 1990 until divorce in 1995; the couple has one child together. She then had a relationship with Marcus Kempen, a German hotel manager with whom she has a daughter. In 2003 she married Lance Gerrard-Wright and they had one child before divorcing in 2006. Since 2008 she has been married Brian Monet since 2008.

Aside from marriages, Ulrika has become known for her other high-profile relationships, which include with Swedish football manager and former player Sven-Göran Eriksson, and English footballer Stan Collymore.
