Rory Lee Feek was born on 25 April 1965, in Atchison, Kansas USA, and is a singer and songwriter, best known for writing singles for various popular artists, such as Blake Shelton and Tracy Byrd. He’s been active in the industry since 1996, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Rory Feek? As of early-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is at $3 million, mostly earned through a successful career in the music industry. He has also performed music with his wife Joey Martin Feek, and established a label for independent artists. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.
Rory Feek (Singer) Net Worth $3 million
As a teenager, Rory started learning to play guitar, inspired by artists such as Don Williams and Merle Haggard. After matriculating, he served two tours as a part of the US Marine Crops. When he returned, he moved to Dallas, Texas, and started by performing at local nightclubs. In 1995, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee and signed a publishing contract, starting to write songs that did well on the charts, including ‘The Chan of Love” by Clay Walker, and his net worth increased significantly when he followed with album tracks for Terri Clark, Mark Willis and Lorrie Morgan. In 2003, he wrote the Tracy Bird single “The Truth About Men”, and then scored his first number one song with “Some Beach”, performed by Blake Shelton. The following year, he created the label Giantslayer Records, and recorded two studio albums with Blaine Larsen.
In 2008 Feek forayed from songwriting to performing his own songs when he formed a duo with his wife Joey Martin Feek, called Joey + Rory, and they first appeared on the talent show “Can You Duet”, from the same company that produced “American Idol”. The duo signed a recording contract with Vanguard Records, and their net worth increased even further when they released their debut single entitled “Cheater, Cheater” which reached the 30th spot on the country singles chart, followed by their first album “The Life of a Song” in 2008. Two years later, Joey + Rory won an Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Vocal Duo, then released another successful single in “That’s Important to Me”, before going to work on their second album. They couple would work on a total of eight albums before the end of the duo due to Joey’s untimely passing. Feek meantime continued with songwriting work, and wrote “I Will” performed by Jimmy Wayne.
For his personal life, it is known that Rory married Tamara Gilmer in 1985 and they have two children but their marriage ended in divorce in 1992.
Ten years later, he married Joey Martin Feek who became his partner in Joey + Rory; they have a daughter who was born with Down’s Syndrome. Joey passed away from cervical cancer in 2016.
