Will is the son of cardiology professor Neil Poulter and his wife Caroline, a nurse, who was raised by an Anglo family in Kenya. He grew up in his hometown with a brother and two sisters. Will went to the Harrodian School, and soon after he matriculated he ventured into acting.

Before landing the role of Lee Carter in Garth Jennings` “Son Of Rainbow” in 2007, featuring Jessica Hynes and Bill Millner, Will had several small on screen appearances, which only helped his career. After “Son Of Rainbow”, Will was cast in television shows such as “Comedy: Shuffle” (2007), “Comedy Lab” (2008), and “School Of Comedy” (2009-2010). Since 2010 he focused more on films, and acquired notable roles in such films as Michael Apted`s “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” with Georgie Henley, Ben Barnes and Skandar Keynes. In 2011 he worked on the film “Wild Bill” which featured Charlie Creed-Miles and Charlotte Spencer, and two years later Will was selected for the role of Kenny Rosmore in “We`re The Millers”, alongside Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis, all of which increased his net worth. Then, his name became more known in Hollywood, and he was sought for roles in such films as “Glassland” (2014), “The Maze Runner” (2014) directed by Wes Ball, in 2015 he had a supporting role in the blockbuster “The Revenant” directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Tom Hardy, and most recently he was a lead actor in the film “Kids In Love” (2016), with Alma Jodorowsky and Sebastian De Souza.

Although his career has just begun, Will has already won several awards, including the BAFTA Award as EE Rising Star, and also a couple of MTV Movie Awards, for Best Fight for the film “The Maze Runner”, and for Best Kiss for the film “We’re the Millers”, among many other awards.

Regarding his personal life, Will tends to keep his life away from the public eye. However, he is quite active on social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, on which he has a great number of followers.

1[when asked if he would be portraying Pennywise in It (2017)] I don't know. I don't know. I was once when Mr Fukunaga was directing, but the circumstances at New Line are such that a new director's attached now. I think, with all due respect to him of course, I was selected by Cary and subscribed to Cary's vision for the movie, and so I haven't had a chance to connect with that [new] director. Of course, I have a relationship with New Line so I'm grateful to them for taking a punt on me - both for We're The Millers and It. But my involvement remains to be seen.
2I think what makes Narnia a magical place is that it offers escapism - escapism from a world that is so different from the reality known by the characters and the reality known by the fans.
3My teacher told my mum, 'I think William has dyspraxia,' and Mum asked what that meant. She said, 'Well, if I put a chair in the middle of the room and asked every child in the class to walk around it, William would be the only child in the class to walk into it.' Mum was like, 'Yeah, that's my boy'.
4Seeing the actual, 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe', I absolutely loved it. It became one of my favourite films. It was a real Christmas classic and it was one of the most popular films ever in British history. So I think if someone told me that I'd be part of the franchise, then I would have thought they were mad.
5Somehow I got a place at Bristol University. I'm still waiting for the phone call to say that they made a mistake and got the wrong person.
6I need to try and get away from that brat role, or people are going to think I'm a natural brat.
7I absolutely love Leonardo DiCaprio.
8The thing I get a lot is, 'You've got a very recognisable face.' I'm never quite sure what to make of it.
9I joined the after-school club, School of Comedy, which progressed wildly, and in quite a Hollywood way. It sounds like 'School of Rock', right up to trying to raise money to pay for a venue in Edinburgh.
10I asked if I could keep Ben, but his agent told me to go away.
